Soccer Chance Academy Joins Super League

SOCCER CHANCE ACADEMY TO JOIN THE WPL SUPER LEAGUE

SEATTLE - June 11, 2021 - The WPL is happy to announce that Soccer Chance Academy is joining the Washington Premier League and will be putting its top teams into the new WA Super League.

Soccer Chance Academy hail from the Portland, Ore. metro area and have created a unique player development model that makes it one of the smallest clubs nationwide to be PlayerFirst certified by US Club Soccer.

"We are truly excited to be part of the WPL and  compete in the new super league against other competitive clubs across the region,"  said Dan Ferguson, one of the founders and club directors. "We have enjoyed everything that the league has had to offer over the last few years, and with the new standards in place, we have no doubt that this will be a great place for our players, parents and coaches."

The new WA Super League is a place for clubs from all backgrounds and all affiliations to unite under a new statewide league – one that promotes high standards, quality competition but tries to minimize travel.

"We want to welcome Soccer Chance Academy to the WPL family," said WPL president Stanley Holmes. "Soccer Chance’s goal is to build one of the strongest soccer clubs in the Northwest. "We believe the WA Super League will be a great fit for his elite group.”

Soccer Chance Academy is an example of a smaller club that meets the higher Super League Standards & Rules – including receiving the coveted PlayerFirst club certification diploma. The club has produced various teams over the past five years that have won state cup, regional tournament and league victories in Oregon and in Washington. The club focuses on a disciplined vision of player development that is now producing top-flight players and teams.

The WA Super League supplants the WNPL format and is the qualifying league for the NPL national tournament platform. The new Super League demands higher standards and a bigger commitment to creating and supporting an elite statewide competitive platform.

The WA Super League is part of the sweeping changes that the WPL is taking to better service our clubs from the bottom to the top. The aim is to build a stronger future for competitive soccer clubs in Washington state and the Northwest.
